Easier to read information - ATO

The Australian Taxation Office's Easy Read and Easier to Read resources provide translated information to help people understand Australia's tax system and access ATO services.

The collection covers topics such as your rights when dealing with the ATO, tax file numbers (TFNs), creating and linking a myGov account, proving your identity, preparing and lodging a tax return, recognising tax scams, what to do if you cannot lodge or pay on time, the Taxable Payments Reporting System (TPAR) for selected industries, the ATO's Vulnerability Framework, and Payday Super.

The collection includes both Easy Read and Easier to Read resources. Easy Read uses simple words, short sentences and pictures to explain information, making it easier for people with intellectual disability, low literacy or others who benefit from visual support. Easier to Read uses simple words and short sentences but does not include pictures. It is designed for people who need information presented in a clearer and simpler way.
