What is a phishing scam?
The videos and transcripts explain that phishing scams occur when scammers pretend to be trusted organisations, such as myGov, to trick people into sharing personal information. They often use fake websites that closely copy official branding and claim there is a problem with your account or that you are eligible for a refund. If personal details are entered, scammers can access accounts, steal payments, and commit identity theft.
The resource highlights the importance of being cautious and verifying websites before providing any information.
