Where do gender stereotypes come from? Raise them equal animation

Children learn about gender from toys, family, TV, books, and friends. Challenging outdated gender ideas helps them thrive and reach their full potential.

Parents, grandparents, and caregivers can foster equality by offering diverse toys and books, encouraging emotional expression, celebrating caring behaviours, and sharing responsibilities at home. Giving children the freedom to dream big opens more opportunities for their futures.

The Raise Them Equal project by Women’s Health Loddon Mallee provides tools to promote gender equality, including engaging animations and conversation starters. These resources help families, communities, and early learning settings support children to grow free from limiting stereotypes.
